A marine conservation project on the incredible Great Barrier Reef
Learn to dive in one of the best locations in the world to become a certified diver and then get involved in protecting the marine biosphere of the largest living organism in the world. After learning with classroom sessions and pool work you learn to dive in the open sea so that can become actively engaged in carrying out a number of tasks involving in recording, monitoring and tracking local marine life as part of the part of the Great Barrier Conservation Program. Make no mistake, the work here is important on both a local and global level.
You will also volunteer in a sea turtle rehabilitation centre and learn about the work against plastic from the beach cleanup conservation program.
The Great Barrier Reef is a stunningly beautiful seascape for 20 million years but risks dying within the next 40 due to global warming heating the water temperature and destroying its fragile ecosystem.
