The Tully River has earned an international reputation as Australia’s best rafting river. Enjoy awesome grade 3 & 4 rapids, amongst the spectacular scenery on this adrenalin pumping adventure. Experience is not necessary. A sense of adventure is!

The Tully River hosted the International Rafting Federation’s 2019 World Rafting Championships. This world class river provides a pinnacle rafting experience, with over 45 rapids ripping down through the stunning rainforest gorge surrounds. Classified as a Grade 4/5 river, the Tully provides one hell of a wild ride which ticks all the boxes for those seeking the ultimate Australian rafting adventure!

Your day begins with a morning pick up from your Cairns or Mission Beach accommodation before enjoying the scenic drive to our Tully base at the Feluga Hotel. You’ll have the chance to grab a quick bite here if you missed breakfast before we meet up with any self drivers and travel to the top of the Tully Gorge.

 

  • Enjoy the scenic drive to Tully via Feluga.
  • Comfort stop and time to grab a quick breakfast at the iconic Feluga Hotel.
  • Travel to the top of the Tully River Gorge and get fitted with rafting gear.
  • Meet your River Guide who will give you a safety briefing and paddling instructions before it’s time to hit the water!
  • Stop for a quick break to recharge the batteries and enjoy a riverside picnic lunch.
  • It’s back to the churning white water to tackle more epic rapids on the lower section of the river.
  • Arrive at the take-out point and change into dry clothes.
  • Transfer to the Feluga Hotel where you can enjoy a cold beverage or hot snack (own cost)
  • Sit back and relax as we transfer you back to your accommodation.

  • Please leave jewellery and valuables at your accommodation

  • Please note you MUST HAVE a competent swimming ability and be able to understand and follow River Guide instructions in English, to participate in Tully River rafting.
  • English speaking and comprehension will be assessed by River Guides at the time of pick-up; if there are concerns about your ability to understand instructions and communicate with our River Guides, you will not be able to participate in the tour and no refund is available or will be provided.
  • Rafting is not suitable for anyone who may be pregnant.
  • Our rafts carry up to seven passengers plus your river guide. No experience is necessary
  • All participants will be required to sign a liability release form prior to the trip commencing
  • The Mulgrave River may be used for half day rafting tours, when the Barron River is not available due to river levels or other reasons
  • No experience necessary, our River Guides have got you covered.
  • Water-based activities contain a certain element of risk and all participants must sign a Liability Release Form. People traveling under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian to be able to sign this form at the arranged pick up point.
  • Participants must disclose any medical condition prior to traveling.
  • Be aware that some medical conditions may exclude people from participating in our tours, eg pregnancy.
